Pre Employment Screening

We offer health advice to employers during recruitment that may help to determine whether a person is suitable to be employed to undertake the specific duties outlined.

Pre-Employment Screening is carried out by a remote paper-based screening service, which is based on a detailed medical questionnaire signed by the prospective employee and posted/faxed directly to us. This is a popular, speedy and cost efficient method and, in the majority of cases, provides all sufficient information. Following our assessment of the information, we will follow up if any issues arise and if necessary arrange a consultation with the applicant.

All applications will result in a report emailed, faxed or posted back to you clearly stating whether the individual is fit to work and will incorporate any restrictions or recommendations as defined under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 ensuring legal compliance.

The pre-employment medical will provide a baseline record of the employee's health upon joining the company, identifying any illnesses or other problems that could affect their ability to do their job effectively. This will allow you to protect your employees from situations that may cause harm, eliminate unlawful discrimination and also prevent any claims made by the employee that a pre-existing condition was caused or exacerbated whilst in your employment.

As part of a full pre-employment medical we can include all or some of the following depending on the demands and duties outlined:

  • Height, Weight & Body Mass Index

  • Skin Surveillance
  • Spirometry (Lung Function) Test as required under COSHH (2002) for exposure to respiratory sensitizers
  • Audiometry (Hearing) Test as required under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005
  • Drug & Alcohol Screening
  • Night Shift Worker Assessment
  • Fork Lift Truck Driver Medical
  • Urinalysis.

  • Colour Vision Test
